Tips for Kissing
Here are some tips for kissing.
Fresh Breath
Make sure you brush your teeth before you kiss. Use mouthwash if you can – otherwise, make sure you also brush your tongue. Keep some chewing gum on hand just in case you eat in-between (but make sure you get rid of it before it’s time to kiss – see next tip).
Empty Mouth
Make sure your mouth is empty before you kiss – it’s sometimes a little bit of a turn off if you have to take out your gum!
Moisten Lips
Slightly moist lips can make the kiss more enjoyable so lightly run your tongue over them before you kiss (who wants to kiss dry lips?). But don’t overdo it – you don’t want them too moist or it gets a bit icky.
Close Your Eyes
It’s always good kissing etiquette to close your eyes when you kiss (unless your partner prefers it otherwise).
Open Lips
Keep your lips slightly open when you kiss. Closed lips can give the impression that you really don’t want to kiss.
Breathe!
Don’t hold your breathe or you’ll pass out (especially if you like longer kissing sessions). Breathe through your nose.
Keep your Tongue in Check
Using your tongue when you kiss can make kissing quite exciting but there’s nothing worse than someone sticking their tongue into your mouth straight away. You should slowly work up to using your tongue. Start kissing with just your lips. Slowly use your tongue but just slightly at first – possibly just a quick touch of tongues at first. Then slowly and gradually explore – but make sure your partner is comfortable with it. Sometimes kissing can be far more enjoyable just using your lips alone.
